What is Yodayo?
Yodayo is an adult, NSFW AI platform for anime fans. NSFW stands for “Not Safe For Work”. It ‘s simply a phrase which indicates content that’s legal, yet something you should not browse through at your professional environments. E.g. sexual content, violence, anything else that’s generally considered taboo.
Yodayo offers two primary features:
- NSFW Chat with AI Anime characters.
- And Generate AI Art.
Of course, you can use it even if you are not an anime fan. However, the platform is anime-centric and almost everything it generates or offers revolves around anime.
Let’s discuss the two features in detail.
Chat with AI anime characters
Yodayo lets you chat with Anime characters. This is the primary feature I use Yodayo for. In fact, I learnt of the platform when I was researching for our Janitor AI alternatives.
It has a long list of characters you can choose from. Each character has their own backstory, kinks, likes, dislikes, gender and everything else.
Basically, you can pick characters exactly to your liking.
How to use Yodayo AI to chat with Anime characters?
Let’s see how exactly we can use Yodayo AI to chat with Anime characters. In this guide, we will assume that it’s your first time at Yodayo and you do not have an account yet.
Step #1: Go to the website (https://www.yodayo.com) and click on “chat with AI characters”.
Step #2: A list will show you tons of AI characters you can choose from. Simply pick a character from this list.
Optional: (Finding the best characters)
It’s possible you get overwhelmed and aren’t sure which characters suit you best. In that case, you can use the many different filters Yodayo provides to find your best match.
For starters, you can use the “hot/top/new” filters to simply find what’s trending on the platform. This gives you access to what other people are already liking, so chances are you may too.
Or, you can simply choose one from the categories. They’ve got options such as Action, Adventure, Non-Binary, Tsundere, Anime, Comedy and so on. This lets you pick the genre of your characters. Your character will have an overall personality in-sync with whatever you pick here.
Step #3: Once you’ve picked a character, more details about them are revealed. This generally includes:
- The creation date
- Their backstory
- Gender
- Number of chats they’ve had with other users.
- Number of people who’ve liked them etc.
Now, you can simply click “Start Chatting” to talk to the character.
Optional: On this same page, you can also do a lot of other things, such as:
- Like (Favourite) the character by clicking the heart button.
- Share the character with other via any social media platform.
- Read the public comments about the character.
Step #4: You’ll be required to log in next. You may either use your phone number, e-mail ID or Google account. I prefer using the “continue with Google” button because it’s easier.
Step #5: On the next page, Yodayo will show you their rules. Accept both the mandatory terms by clicking the boxes, and click “Enter Yodayo”.
Step #6: You’ll be redirected back to the Yodayo homepage. You must go through step 1-3. This time, you’ll be taken to the chat page once you click on “start chatting”.
You’re in. You can now simply go through the character’s story and start chatting!
That’s how you use Yodayo to chat with AI characters. In the later sections, we will discuss the other, image generation feature of the tool.
Before that, let’s briefly discuss another important feature that Yodayo offers with its anime chat.
6 unique chat models
When you’re chatting with your characters, you can choose the exact AI model for the chat. Model here simply means the dataset on which the AI was trained.
In other words, the model influences the responses of the AI for you as well as cost of each response.
There are 6 models you can choose from:
- Nephra 8B: the model is pretty strong for Roleplay and STEM as well as Humanities discussions. It’s not the best choice for math/reasoning or coding.
- Artemis 7B: It’s almost the best model to choose if you want creative answers as it excels in writing and humanities discussions. Roleplay responses too are impressive. It can also help with basic coding and math responses.
- Apollo 13B: This is another model that’s suitable for writing and roleplay based chats. Not good choice for math or reasoning.
- Pharaoh 32B: Another model that’s poor at Maths, coding and average at reasoning. It too excels in STEM, humanities and writing.
- Horus 34B: this is best for humanities and STEM, is acceptable for writing and roleplay and almost impossible for coding. Math and reasoning skills were at a basic level.
- Nephra 70B: The strongest suite for this model is humanities, and the weakest is Math (alike many humans, eh?).
For the average user, the model won’t matter. You can simply start chatting with the default mode. However, this Yodayo review wouldn’t be complete without discussing a feature as advanced as this.
Comparing the responses and answers of different characters
So, you can choose different characters. But, how different are they really? Are they simply the same bots with a different picture and name? Or are the responses, personalities and traits actually different?
That’s what we will review next. For the test, I will give the exact same command/message to all the test characters and share their responses with you.
For starters, I selected Riela, a slave. My first message to her is-” Go fetch the broom”. Here’s her response:
This response definitely is in sync with the character. As she’s a slave, her response is submissive.
Now, we will pick another character. She’s Kayla, a Nosy neighbour who thinks I’m a serial killer. I’m picking her as I’m expecting her replies to be dominant and non-fearing if the AI model functions accurately.
My first command to her too is “Go fetch the broom”.
Her physical gestures are almost threatening and alarming, and she uses it like a “weapon” as opposed to the Slave character we talked to earlier.
Lastly, I’m picking Emily. My math teacher. She’s a neutral character without any evident submissive or dominant traits. For my command for fetching the broom, here’s the reply I get:
These tests prove beyond doubt that the characters aren’t simply a “different thumbnail”. Rather, they’re like entirely different personalities with very different and almost opposite responses to each other. Moreover, the responses are in sync with the character’s back story, profession and everything else.
How to use Yodayo to generate AI art and what are its features?
Yodayo’s second biggest feature is its AI image generator. It can generate:
- Text to images
- Or Images to Images.
It hosts many unique features such as spells, controlnet, and of course different models. All of which we will review next.
The text to images feature lets you enter a prompt (obviously) but also a negative prompt. The negative prompt ensures whatever you type is excluded from your image.
Once you enter the prompt, choose if you want a “high priority” (costs 5 Yobeans) or a relaxed (free) generation.
Next, you can choose a “model”. This is basically the style of image you wish to generate.
Do note that all generations with Yodayo will be “anime” themed. However, you can select from a number of different styles.
Styles aren’t the only customization available. You can also change the “spells”. The spells too influence the drawing style and design of the image. However, spells are mostly detail-oriented. They influence the level and type of details your image will have.
I like the fact that you can control the “strength” of the spells. This tells the AI how strongly the spell must be followed and how much deviation is allowed.
Technically, you can click the “generate” button right after the prompt. No other customizations are mandatory.
However, Yodayo AI offers some extremely advanced features that I believe this Yodayo review should cover.
Advanced Image generation features
If you’d like to have more control over your Yodado generated images, these features should help.
ControlNet
It’s one of the more rare and impressive features that I’ve seen generative AI offer.
Controlnet in very simple words is your ability to use a base image and use very specific details/parts of it for your new image.
There are nearly a dozen controlnet models that Yodayo offers:
I’ve explained each of these options in detail in the later section.
- Open Pose: This copies the pose from your base image and generates the same in your new image.
- Canny: The Canny model copies the outline of your base image and uses your primary prompt to generate your image using the same outline.
- Depth: The AI tries to understand the different levels of depths in your base image for replication.
- Lineart: It’s basically a “sketch to photo” model. Even the most basic sketches will be turned into anime art.
- Soft edges: This too copies the outline of your base image but on a softer scale. It’s not a 100% replication in this case.
- Scribble/sketch: This one gives you scribbles for the images that you upload.
- Recolour: The name couldn’t be simpler. It simply detects the colours in your image and then uses your prompt to recolour the image as specified.
- Reference: This is what I use the most. It’s capable of generating almost the same faces and images with slight prompt-induced changes that can help you generate consistent characters.
- Normal Map: The AI reads the 3D characteristics in your base image and copies them for your output.
- M-LSD: the complex name hides the simple feature of being able to “Detect straight lines”. Whatever straight lines your base image has are used as base for the new image generation.
- Segmentation: Segmentation lets the AI recognize objects/shapes in your base image. These objects/shapes can then be teleported to a new, AI-generated image where everything else is new except the base-image objects. Do note that you can not select which shapes/objects to recognize and which to omit.
- Shuffle: It simply mixes all the colours in your base image, then uses the newly generated colour scheme for your new image.
You can also set the weight (strength) of the Controlnet.
The good news is, even without this Yodayo review, you’ll know exactly what the purpose of each Controlnet model is. That’s because if you hover over the controlnets, an example of base image + controlnet + output is displayed.
I feel this little detail makes using and understanding Controlnet very easy!
Hires.fix
This basically allows you to make other changes to your image such as:
- Upscale the image and increase the canvas size. Over a dozen upscale algorithms are available to choose from.
- Choose how much deviation from or retention of the base image is required.
- Clip Skip: In the simplest words, it lets you stop the generation process mid-way. AI generation is completed in many layers, so you can set the layer (from 1-12) on which you wish for the AI to stop generating further.
- VAE and ENSD: Very advanced configurations letting you control seed offset and similarities of resulting outputs.
All in all, Yodayo AI offers extreme and in some cases unprecedented control over its AI characters.
How to create an anime bot with Yodayo.AI?
Yodayo lets anyone create these anime bots. You can either use them privately, or make them available for public. Here’s how:
Step #1: Click on “models” on the top-right of the screen, and then click “create”.
Step #2: Then fill in the field details. You’ll need to enter a name, category, type, description, and other details.
Step #3: You then simply upload your Safetensor file and lastly the photo.
Now, as this is a Yodayo review, I will say the process could be simpler. The fact that not each one of you reading this Yodayo review may be familiar with Safetensor files (required to create a bot), the feature becomes rather limited.
What is not allowed on Yodayo?
Just because Yodayo allows NSFW content, doesn’t mean it’s completely accepting of anything and everything.
There are a few things that Yodayo won’t allow, these include:
- Hate speeches
- Sexualized minors. You can not create, interact with, or create a scenario involving sexualized minors.
- No incest content. While this isn’t generally considered as illegal as underage porn, it’s still a Taboo and hence not allowed.
Also, it’s only for adults. As in, you must be 18 years or older to access Yodayo.
Yodayo AI Pricing
So, how much does Yodayo cost exactly? It’s free forever.
So, Yodayo doesn’t have packages. Rather, it sells “Yobeans”. This is like currency for Yodayo. Each fast generation costs 5Yobeans. Relaxed generations are free.
So, for the pricing, you can purchase “Yobeans”. The pricing depends on the number of Yobeans you purchase.
The plans start as low as $5 for 550 Yobeans and go up to 17,000 Yobeans for $100.
The good news is, you can get 100% free Yobeans as well!
- You get about 500 Yobeans for free on signing up. This includes your signup bonus + daily free Yobeans.
- You also get 150 free Yobeans every day.
- Discord contests are held by Yodayo which offer Yobeans as well.
- You also get a 10% commission for creating Tavern bots.

Yodayo Review – Conclusion
Time for my personal opinion then? I’ll say Yodayo is one of the best platforms I’ve ever seen as long as “anime” is my prime focus.
The chatbots are unique and have different personalities, the extreme speed/cost and design control over image generations and the 100% free forever model is more than impressive.
While it can’t generate non-anime content, I wouldn’t say that’s a major problem. The company has a different USP and prime focus, it never claimed it would generate non-anime content. Hence, anyone on Yodayo already knows what it’s for.
All in all, I’ll say go give it a try as it’s 100% free and will help understand Yodayo better than this Yodayo review.
