If you’re a gamer, allow me to enhance your gaming experience in the next few minutes. Without spending a ton of money, you could entirely change how you game.
Doesn’t matter if you’re a veteran or just starting out, this piece is for you. If there’s a game that’s banned or if you constantly keep getting higher pings, we’ve got solutions for that too. We’d not just talk of performance, but aesthetics as well as legalities. Let’s get started then?

Upgrade performance-boosting hardware before anything else
I mean this goes almost without saying, doesn’t it? Almost 90% of your gaming experience depends on your hardware and this is true both for mobile and PC gamers.
Hence, before you get anything else, if you can afford it, get a better graphic card, more storage, better RAM or a new phone.
No other equipment will add as much to your gaming experience as better hardware would. If you’re confused about what to upgrade, check what’s your worst performing factor? Is it the resolution? Then you’d need a better monitor. Is it the FPS? You’d need a better graphic card and/or a monitor depending on who’s the bottleneck. If you’ve got everything topped up, you can always go for more RAM or storage.
Other hardware you should get
Everything I included earlier was a direct component of your gaming system. Those directly boost your game’s performance and hence your experience.
However, there’s a lot more you can get to enhance your gaming experience.
- Gaming mouse: On a negligible investment, you can grab yourself a gaming mouse. It often has much better tactile feedback and ultra precise accuracy. This matters even more when playing competitive games like PUBG or CS:GO, doesn’t it? Some of these even come with additional and customizable buttons. That instantly gets you an advantage your competitors don’t have. These gaming mouse often also have faster response times. Logitech offers pretty budget-friendly gaming mouses.
- Gaming chair: This is a pretty non-technical and yet a very important upgrade. You spend hours sitting on your chair, a gaming chair keeps your spine right without compromising on your comfort. This helps you save medical bills in the future. It also adds looks to your content which may translate into more views, subscribers and money if you’re a streamer. Do note that low-end gaming chairs do more bad than good hence go for at least above-average ones if you really need the benefits.
- Gaming keyboard: Just like the gaming mouse, the keyboard too has its benefits. Yes, your taps get registered faster and they also better recognize multi-key presses. They’re also often designed ergonomically so you can use them longer.
- Gaming headsets: Sound is very important, isn’t it? It tells you how far the enemy is, the direction of the fire and so much more. Get yourself a headset that’s not just for music. Any headset that offers direction-sense, longer use-hours, clear mic for better cooperation and easy volume control should work.
Get a VPN
Did you know your ISP throttles your internet speed and reduces speed for specific websites/tasks/games? Yes, even when you aren’t doing anything wrong or shady. ISPs identify high bandwidth users and throttle their speed. They do this to evenly distribute speed, or sometimes even as an evil tactic to thwart specific websites or sales from succeeding if the right party pays them!
A VPN helps you bypass this. When you use a VPN, your ISP can’t recognize you anymore. It won’t know that you’re a part of its network and hence your speed isn’t throttled.
A good VPN like Express VPN also helps you play games that may be banned in your region. This also helps you achieve better ping in games if your ISP was interfering.
Do not RUSH the gameplay
I’ve been a gamer for about 15 years now. A major instinct as soon as I got games earlier was -”how soon can I finish it?”. Well, that has its own rush and excitement as well.
However, if you wish to “enhance” your gameplay, even for competitive games, I’ll say don’t rush. Take time. Walk instead of constantly pressing that “run” button. Look at each tree, door, NPC, garbage bin and every little detail. Games these days are random and unique enough that you won’t get bored. This helps you connect with the environment and the character, enhancing your overall gaming experience.
Join gaming communities
You may be a single player or a co-op lover, either way it’s fun only with a team, isn’t it? A gaming community not only supplies you with teammates (who later become best friends for life) but a lot more.
E.g. I often compete for Steam medals. Some games also allow you to exchange in-game items. If nothing else, you can engage in discussions you like.
The best place to find gaming communities is of course Discord in my opinion. You can also try Telegram or Reddit though.
Conclusion- How to enhance your gaming experience
Obviously, this isn’t an all-inclusive guide. You can always opt to renovate your room, put up fancy lights, gaming decor and much more. However, I tried primarily to stick to performance and experience boosters rather than aesthetics.
You can always get a bigger monitor or custom controllers but I guess that isn’t why you came here, did you?
Go on then, go enhance your gaming experience and maybe share this piece with your other gamer friends?
