You can’t make your contacts unsee, what they have already seen. But at least you can see, who are the once that have viewed your story before you could delete it. Maybe you can do something in that regard?
Yes, Snapchat does offer such feature. And we can quickly view the contacts who have seen our story on Snapchat. Let’s move further and figure out, how can we do that.
How to Know Who Viewed your Snapchat Story:
After learning how to delete Snapchat story, now let’s check out who viewed your Snapchat story before deletion.
Unlike Facebook and Whatsapp, Snapchat lets you know who has viewed your story. And that’s the best part of Snapchat.
To view the names of your ‘My Story’ viewers, just go to my story section by swiping left to the camera screen. On the My Story page, just tap the three dots next to my Story.
Now, next to every story, you will see a Purple-eyed icon, along with some number next to it. And just below that, there will be an icon with two green arrows. See the screenshot below to understand better.
The number next to the purple eye is the number of people who have viewed your Story. And the green icon depicts the number, of how many times your story is screenshotted.
To know even more details like the name of the people who have viewed your status, you need to tap on your story to see the snap completely. There, just tap the eye icon, and you will be provided with the name of people who have viewed your Story.
Just similar to the below image.
Note: If you don’t see any such options next to your My Story, it means your story has not been viewed yet. And you no need to worry at all.
Can people See My Story after deletion??
Now coming to my last section of this tutorial, i.e., can people see your story after it’s deleted??
The answer to this question is, Yes, they can view your story.
Now you might wonder, then what’s the point to learn how to delete Snapchat story, if it still can be viewed. Isn’t it?
You are somewhat right. But here is the catch.
As you know, a Snapchat story can be viewed for the unlimited number of times by your friends. But if you opt for deleting the story, they can only view it for once. After that, the story won’t be shown to them.
Yes, that’s how Snapchat story works. If the story is created once, you can’t stop your friends from viewing it, at least, for once!
But if the Story is just not viewable, and you don’t want your friends see it at any cost, then I have two solutions for that too. However, these solutions are little tedious, but, you have to follow them if you are so desperate to delete the story.
So, here we go,
1). Block all your contacts for some time:
Yes, you read it right. If you are so panicked that your contacts will view the story that you have just posted, you can block them for some time.
If you do that, none of your friends would be able to view your story. And you will be safe from the blunder. Once the 24 hours are over, you can unblock your contacts. And add them back to your Snapchat contacts.
Blocking friends on Snapchat is pretty simple. All you need to do is, open SnapChat. Swipe right to view the friend’s list. Tap the friend’s name that you want to block. Now just tap the three lines located on the top. And block the contact.
Now let’s move further and check out what’s the second way.
2). Delete your Snapchat account:
It’s funny, that you came here to learn how to delete Snapchat story. And I’m suggesting you to, delete your Snapchat account.
But that’s the only thing you can do from preventing your contacts from viewing your story. Once the 24 hours are passed, you can recreate your Snapchat account and add your contacts.
So that’s it on how to delete Snapchat story. And it’s time for me to wrap it up. But before that, one bonus tip.
Bonus Tip:
If you are an impulsive person and often posts wrong stories, I have got a tip for you!
Now that you know how to delete Snapchat story, you can quickly remove if you post the wrong story by mistake. But to prevent the damage, why not to limit the number of contacts that can view your Story??
Yes, we can do that. For that, you need to go to Snapchat settings. To reach out to settings, just press the Snapchat icon on the top of the camera screen. And then, tap the gear icon at the top left.
On the settings page, Under “WHO CAN”, set the list of Custom friends, who can view your Story. Customizing this setting will give you a sigh of relief, even if the wrong story is posted.
Hand Picked Stuff For You:
Conclusion:
Snapchat is one of the most popular messaging applications for mobile users. It lets you instantly send snaps to your friends and publish stories.
There is a difference between publishing a story and sending snaps to an individual. However, both the options are different from each other, but since they are located on the same screen, one can easily be confused between the two. And post images, videos on the story instead of sending to your friends.
And it can make you encounter embracement among your friends. That’s the reason; I’ve come up with this tutorial “how to delete Snapchat story.” If by chance, you create a story by mistake, or you later realize that the story wasn’t good enough, you can delete it quickly.
