Here’s a list of the best web hosting for small business in 2024. They’re compiled based on my personal experience with most of them, their features, and reviews from other users (both online and offline).

Did you know that 97% of customers search for a product online before heading down to a shop? Imagine all the business you’re losing by not having a website regardless of the size of your business.
Anyway, I’ve compiled this list keeping your “business” needs in mind. So rest assured, you’re getting online today, period! If you’re completely clueless, scroll to the second-last section of this article, I’ve included a brief section on how to choose the best web hosting for small business.

So while choosing these hosting plans, it’s best to go for a minimum term of 1-year plans. These always have the biggest discounts, sometimes nearly 10x of their monthly-pricing. Not just that, going for the yearly term also in most cases enables you for additional benefits, such as free domains!

For starters, it offers staging. So you get a fully functional demo of your website before it goes live. Perfect for trimming all and any errors before pushing it out on the web.

EverCache makes sure you don’t need to overload your site with other cache plugins. And Genesis Framework is considered to be one of the best WordPress frameworks in existence. It generally costs quite a bit, but not with WP Engine.
The cheapest plan costs $22.00/month. It’s followed by the “Growth” plan priced at $86.00/month and the “Scale” plan which costs $217.00/month. So it’s the most expensive option on this list, but worth double its price in features and value.

Liquid Web offers most if not all the features any new business website would need. That’s one of the reasons why I believe it’s one of the best website hosts for small businesses.
Cheapest VPS plan starts at $15.00/month. All VPS plans on Liquid Web offer free SSL, CDN, DDoS protection, dedicated IP address, and 100GB backup. The plan offers 2 vCPUs, and 40 GB space. More expensive plans can be opted for more space and CPU power.
Liquid Web doesn’t offer shared servers. It does however offer managed WordPress hosting, you also can peek at our list of the best cheap WordPress hosting companies if you plan on launching a WordPress project.
It doesn’t offer free domains though. Free E-mails are offered with cPanel. Website builder isn’t offered.
The support is impressive, they give you a call instantly from their end in case the live-chat isn’t cutting it for you. They even help you pick the perfect hosting plan for you depending on your exact business plan and model.
The company also offers easy scalability options in case you’d wish to upgrade. Datacenters are located in Lansing, Michigan, Phoenix, Arizona and Amsterdam. You as a user will get to choose the exact server location fitting your target-audience.
And according to this report, Liquid Web performs better than Amazon Web Services (AWS), Digital Ocean and Rackspace. All three of which are the industry-leader when it comes to VPS. This proves that quality, uptime or speed wouldn’t be a problem.
Unfortunately, the 1 & 2 year plans do not have a refund-policy.
Best for: Those who have some technical knowledge and are ready to work with its no-refund policy.
7. Cloudways

It also ensures the site remains live even if a server fails. In a way, it’s one of the best bets to keep a site always up and running.
You get to choose from 5 cloud providers, namely Digital Ocean, Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, Vultr and Linode.
All plans offer free SSL, free migrations, firewalls for security, and a CDN among other benefits. Automated backups too are included considering how it’s a managed hosting solution.
The pricing differs based on the cloud provider you choose. The lowest possible pricing is $10.00/month for Digital Ocean. AWS is the most expensive provider starting at $36.51/month. The features do not differ based on pricing, only the resources do.
You can either pay the fixed prices, or opt for the “hourly billing”. Also features a “Pay as you go” model where you pay only for the amounts of resources consumed by you.
There are no limitations on how many websites you can host on any of the plans either. Does require a bit of technical knowledge, doesn’t feature a cPanel. Although ultra-detailed, step-by-step guides and 24X7 live support helps with the onboarding process.

The free domain isn’t included in this plan, but if you opt for the other shared plans that’s thrown-in as well.
More serious businesses can opt for the cloud servers. Those start at $39.00/month, while a tad-bit expensive the features do justify the pricing.

However, if your small business needs VPS servers, those start at $8.95/month. The RAM, bandwidth, space and CPU-cores can be manually specified as per needs. No refunds offered. Dedicated servers available as well.
How to choose the best web hosting for small businesses?
Depending on the Price? No. That should be the least of your concerns. When starting a business, we expect investments. Even then, I’ve made sure to only include cheapest to comparatively cheaper web hosting for small business plans in this list. Because obviously, I know you can’t empty your pockets just on the server.
But, pay attention to a company’s overall quality. This will decide how Search Engines and visitors perceive your website. Search Engine ranking and user-trust isn’t an option, but a requirement for all business-websites on the internet.
For starters, it’s a good idea to go with companies offering SSL certificates. For a business, they’re just a mandatory requirement. It’s a legal requirement if you’re accepting payments on your website. Moreover, the green seal, or padlock they offer increases trust.
Moreover, not having a SSL certificate will make your website appear as “not secure” for Google Chrome users.
Secondly, CDN-offering hosts are a good choice. CDN increases your website speed for your visitors, regardless of their or your server’s location.
Speed is important, did you know Amazon would lose over $1.6Billion a year if it slowed by just 1 second? Or that, this research from Google suggests that you’d lose 53% of your mobile visitors (and hence potential conversions) if your website takes 3+ seconds to load? Not to mention that 2 seconds is the ideal time for computer websites?
Ah and speed also determines your SEO rankings on Google, both for desktop as well as mobile searches!
Then, look for e-mail accounts. Sending a business mail from mark@gmail.com isn’t as professional as Mark@greencarpets.com, is it? Check if any free e-mails are offered, if yes how many and if not compare the priced e-mail plans with the plans from other companies.
A website builder can never hurt. Drag & drop changed the way websites were built. So if a company offers free website builders, do consider the factor depending on your design-requirements.
You also need to consider your traffic-expectations. This will decide how much bandwidth, or what type of server do you need. Shared servers are the cheapest and suit most starter websites. However, if you expect traffic in the 6-figures, a VPS or Cloud server is what you need to go with
Because it’s a business, backups are an integral part. Make sure your host either offers free, or paid backups. Daily backups are best, if not you can also accept weekly or bi-weekly backups.
Also consider scalability. Does the company offer easy upgrades (or downgrades) if and when required? A company which offers the choice of server-locations gains an edge as well.
And finally, what are your own skills? Can you manage a server all by yourself? Does your company offer instant, 24X7 support? If you’re an absolute beginner, go with shared servers. These require the least skills and are easiest to operate.
All in all, there isn’t any perfect checklist to choose the best web hosting for small business. It’s all subjective to you as a person and your requirements.
Final Words
So that’s a wrap folks. I believe 10 is more options than you’d need, don’t you agree? Especially considering how each of these companies are the best, sooner or later you must’ve found your match.
In my personal opinion, there’s no company I can simply crown to be the best web hosting for small business. It majorly depends on your budget, and then on the project you’re trying to get online. Each project would have its specific requirements, and traffic-expectations.
Do let me know which company fits your needs, or is the best web hosting for small business according to you?
