In this Bedpage review, we will review all the features that Bedpage claims to offer. How many of these features work? What doesn’t work? Does Bedpage have an active user base? We will verify (with proof) everything you need to know before using Bedpage.
If you’ve ever wanted to browse or post your classified ads, you’re at the right place. After reading this review, you may or may not use Bedpage, but you’ll certainly learn everything about Bedpage.
Let’s get started then.
Table of Contents
What is Bedpage?
BedPage is a classified ads site for the United States of America. If you need to buy or sell a product, either digital or physical, you may do that on Bedpage. Not just products, it also connects service providers and those who need those services.
In other words, it’s like eBay and Fiverr combined, minus all the complexities or even the modern user interface.
There are a few features that give Bedpage its characteristics, these are:
- 1.4 million active visitors in a month on average. (Verified).
- No sign-up is required for viewing ads/contacting advertisers.
- Signup and 100% Identity verification are required for posting ads.
- $500 deposit is required for posting ads.
- Very rich in the number of listings for each category.
If the features interest you, let’s get on with this Bedpage review.
Is Bedpage worth it? A number study.
At the time of this review, it’s receiving nearly 1.4 MILLION monthly visits. This tells us that if you post an ad there, you’ll probably get responses.
(Source: Semrush traffic analytics).
Also, the traffic is from tier-1 countries. 1.3M is just from the US. This ensures the conversion rate of the visitors too will not be a complete waste.
My verdict: With the kind of traffic it attracts, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be rated 5/5.
No signup required/100% free (for viewers)
You can access Bedpage right away, without any signup or payment. This means you can access any listing and contact the advertiser without having any account whatsoever.
This is what separates it from eBay or Fiverr. There are no major “profiles” or identity verifications. Yes, they do pose security issues as we will discuss later. However, it also simplifies posting ads, hiring people or getting jobs.
This also makes it 100% free for a viewer. You do not need to pay Bedpage any commission or share any details to get in touch with any advertiser.
My verdict: The no signup feature saves time. But, it also increases the chances of scammers/spammers contacting you as there’s no entry barrier. I’ll rate the feature 4/5.
Signup, payment, and verification needed for posting ads.
Do note that you can not post an ad without signing up. Meaning if you wish to hire someone, sell something, or offer your own services by “posting an ad”, you’ll need to register. This however is common for most other sites like Bedpage.
The signup unfortunately is limited to “Google accounts only”.
You can not log in using any other social network or e-mail ID.
The last blow is the heaviest. To activate your account and be able to post ads, you’ll have to deposit $500 and get verified. Yes, that’s a pretty big ask. But then, it massively limits the number of scammers who will sign up.
To get a fully verified account, you’ll need to do the following:
- Upload a government-issued ID card
- A video selfie that must state your name, address, contact number, current date, and one specific phrase.
- A photo of you, holding a handwritten note with “Bedpage” written on it.
- Utility bill for address.
My verdict: I don’t like the fact that only Google emails are accepted. Then, I’m not happy with the $500 deposit as well. And the identity verification is ultra-strict. But, it does act as an extremely well-functioning anti-scam measure. So, I’ll rate it 5/5 from a safety POV.
Available product and service categories
The primary purpose why Bedpage exists is to connect buyers to sellers and vice-versa. Hence, the available products and services are a major feature we need to review, don’t you agree?
Well, Bedpage has a listing for almost everything. In fact, its product categories make it one of the best YesBackPage alternatives.
There are over 15 primary categories of products and services:
- Adult: This has some of the most controversial yet most used listings on Bedpage. You can hire escorts, body rubs, and even transgender partners. It’s basically a sex listing in other words.
- Dating: This is alike the adult listing but sex isn’t the goal here. This category is used to meet partners of your choice either for long or short-term relationships. You may use it to find both straight, as well as gay partners (men seeking men/women seeking women, etc.).
- Boats and Jet skis: They could just call this “Water vehicles” cause there is a separate section for non-water vehicles as well. Anyway, this one has listings for jet skis, Kayaks, etc.
- Tickets: This lets you buy tickets for theatres, buses, trains, sports etc. I’ve found both first parties (authorized sellers) as well as resellers posting ads here.
- Pets: Maybe you have a bird, cat, dog, horse, rabbit, reptile, fish, or any other animal that you’d like to sell? Or maybe you wish to own one of those? This category is just for that.
- Books, music, and games: This is where you can buy and sell books, board games, musical instruments, etc.
- Jobs: One of the highest populated listings on Bedpage. You can find jobs or hire people for literally any category out there. It can be legal, real estate, construction, banking, financial services, engineering, hospitality, tourism, retail, sales, call center, and everything else in between.
- Real estate: The big leagues! Do you wish to buy or sell a business, room share, parking & storage, office space, or something that’s brick & mortar? This is where you do that.
- Services for hire: No products here. This is where you can hire individuals who provide services & skills across all sectors. It could be accounting, gardening, dressmaking, weddings, and anything else that you can think of.
- Sports & Fitness: This covers a diverse category of sports such as bicycling, rock climbing, golf, sports bags, surfing, camping, hiking, fishing, and many others.
- Electronics and computers: You can buy computers, phones, tablets, video games, consoles, etc.
- Baby & children: All baby care products and toys can be found in this category.
- Automotive: Remember the “non-water vehicle” category I mentioned earlier? You’ll find everything that runs on land here. Cars, vans, caravans, motorcycles, trailers, trucks etc. Apart from vehicles, you can also buy/sell vehicle parts here.
- Home & Garden: It has lighting, furniture, appliances, decor, and tools for your home and garden.
- Antiques, art & collectibles: You may be a passionate art collector or a money launderer. This is where you buy the rare and generally high-ticket art and antiques.
- Community: This is where you find “group activities”. Dance partners, missed connections, sports partners, garage sale, classes, activities, people with similar hobbies, etc. (Be cautious on here, not all listings may be safe).
My verdict: Bedpage covers nearly all the categories that we may need. Even in numbers, all the categories are very listing-rich. I will rate its products & services 5/5.
User-interface
You do not need to be tech-savvy or have any previous experience to start using Bedpage. This is what separates it from other Backpage alternatives.
When you first land on Bedpage, you get a list of states and regions. Because Bedpage is US-only, no countries can be selected. Anyway, so far I believe it’s pretty easy, isn’t it?
Once you choose a country, you select a product/service category. This too I believe is designed with extreme simplicity, isn’t it?
See that hamburger/three horizontal lines at the top-right (in the above screenshot)? It offers basic features such as:
- Link to your account
- The credits page
- Change language
- And change city.
Of course, that’s optional and I’ve never really used that button in all these years.
Lastly, after selecting the products/services, I get the exact listings.
The listings are almost 100% text-based. They simply have a description of what’s being offered, the price, location, contact number etc.
You can contact the person using the provided number directly, or click the “Whatsapp” button on the top-right.
This will take you directly to a WhatsApp chat with the advertiser.
My verdict: I’ll rate the interface 5/5 due to its simplicity and ease of use. Even on the first day, a user will not get lost and get to what they’re searching for.

Frequently Asked Questions
After reading Bedpage reviews, even I had a few questions. Let me try and answer a few of them:
Q. Is Bedpage legit?
Yes. Bedpage is a site with over a million hits per month. It’s definitely a legitimate website. This statement only means that the website owners do not have any illicit intentions to the best of our knowledge.
Q. Is Bedpage safe?
Bedpage may be legit, doesn’t mean it’s also safe. The users who post ads on Bedpage are humans. And humans aren’t always good. Hence, it’s possible for Bedpage to have listings that are scams and may lead you to lose money, data, or something else.
Here are a few tips that will help you stay safe on Bedpage:
- Never pay in advance for any product or service.
- When hiring “people” for babysitting, gardening, or anything else, try to get their background verified.
- Avoid meeting people in private places or at night. Public places and daytime work best. Partner up with a friend for the meetings if possible.
- Try to disclose as little about yourself as possible. Never disclose your full name, address, where you work, or other details unless absolutely necessary.
- Do not click on links sent by Bedpage users to your e-mails or phones without verifying their authenticity.
Q. Is Bedpage free?
As mentioned earlier, Bedpage is free for browsing and responding to ads. It’s not free if you wish to post your ads.
Bedpage review- Final verdict
Bedpage is the most active community in terms of “classified ads”. It’s also one of the safest and least scam-prone due to its extremely strict ID verification. The $500 deposit further makes it a place where scammers will not instantly sign up.
You’ll probably be able to buy/sell almost anything on the platform. However, you still need to be cautious and follow the safety steps mentioned above.
Yes, its signup and payment policies are harsh but those are exactly what keep it safe. So, in my opinion, it’s one of the best places to buy/sell products & services.
